Cloning with related record in opportunity


Salesforce has introduced cloning with the related option in spring 2020 release. This feature is different from the original clone option we had on the opportunity.

Let's see what clone option on opportunity does before we jump on to Clone with the related option

Step 1) Create a test opportunity.
Step 2) Add a product to this opportunity.

Step 3. Let's try to clone this opportunity using the regular clone option.


Step 4) Clone button will clone the original opportunity but it will skip cloning related product.

Step 5) Let's try to clone original opportunity via clone with the related button.


TADA : It will clone both opportunity and product

If for whatever reason you are unable to see clone with a related button then you need to go to Opportunity page layout and drag and drop this button on to the page.
